Dr. Kelleher earned her undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University and her DVM from Kansas State University in 2007. After practicing in New York, she returned to Fort Worth and has worked part-time at Mellina Animal Hospital since 2018. She prides herself on advocating for her patients and communicating clearly with pet owners. Outside work, she enjoys time with her three children, TCU sporting events, lake days, and family time.

Dr. Megan Kelleher

Medical Director

Veterinarian

Liz has been part of Mellina Animal Hospital for 15 years and has worked in the veterinary field for 16. She prides herself on showing compassion to patients and their families. In her free time, she enjoys gardening with her son, hiking, running, reading, and traveling. Her favorite quote reminds her to seek beauty each day, and if she were an animal, she’d choose an elephant for its strength, calm nature, and loyalty.

Elizabeth Meyer

Practice Manager

Dr. Gianna Plaksa earned her DVM from the University of Pennsylvania in 2023 after completing a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences at Central Michigan University, where she was a Division I gymnast. Originally from Mountain Top, PA, she practiced for a year in Georgia before moving to Texas. Her interests include preventive care, ophthalmology, and internal medicine, with goals to pursue acupuncture and rehab certification. She enjoys exploring Fort Worth with her husband, Danny, and spending time with her pets, Odin and Grimm.

Dr. Gianna Plaksa

Katie has been with Mellina Animal Hospital for 7 years and has over a decade of experience in the veterinary field. She prides herself on showing compassion to both patients and their owners. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, playing video games, and reading. Her favorite quote inspires her to focus on new beginnings, and if she were an animal, she’d be a goat—headstrong, motivated, gentle, and quiet.

Katherine Smith

Office Manager

Cory has been part of Mellina Animal Hospital for about eight years and is known for staying calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. In his free time, he enjoys reading, drawing, tinkering, and playing video and board games with friends. His favorite quote reflects resilience, and if he were an animal, he’d choose a turtle—protected on the outside with a soft side within.

Cory Rogers

Veterinary Technician

Hospital Assistant

William has been in the veterinary field for five years and joined Mellina Animal Hospital in 2020. He recently graduated from LSU with a degree in animal science and is applying to veterinary school. He prides himself on caring for every pet as if they were his own. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, working out, walking his dogs, and spending time with friends. If he were an animal, he’d be a zoo hippo—happy with free food and a pool.

William Portwood

Syd has been in the veterinary field for about two and a half years and enjoys connecting with owners about their pets. In free time, Syd spends time with friends listening to music, watching movies, and enjoying good food. A favorite quote is a reminder that consistency makes things easier. If Syd were an animal, they’d choose a Brangus for its adaptability and steady temperament.

Syd Grandel

Micah joined Mellina Animal Hospital about three months ago and prides herself on improving the lives of animals, building strong client relationships, and working with a supportive veterinary team. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym and spending quality time with her husband and kids. Her favorite quote reminds her to stay prepared, and if she were an animal, she’d be a horse for its strength, grace, independence, and resilience.

Micah Hayes

Drew has been in the veterinary field for 3–4 years, starting as a kennel tech before working as a technician while completing a degree in animal science. She joined Mellina Animal Hospital two months ago and takes pride in helping animals who cannot speak for themselves and communicating with their owners. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and dogs, napping, and doing arts and crafts. If she were an animal, she’d choose a white tiger for its strength and uniqueness.
